Andrea Shaw: Road to Olympia 2026

Andrea Shaw: Six-Time Ms. Olympia Champion Sets Her Sights on Another Historic Title

Andrea Shaw has already established herself as one of the defining athletes in modern women’s bodybuilding. After winning the Ms. Olympia title for the sixth consecutive time in 2025, Shaw enters the second half of 2026 with another opportunity to strengthen a legacy that is becoming increasingly difficult for anyone in the sport to match.

The American bodybuilder has dominated the Women’s Open division since winning her first Ms. Olympia title in 2020. Six consecutive victories have transformed Shaw from a rising professional into one of the most recognizable champions in the history of women’s bodybuilding. Her next major challenge is already on the calendar: the 2026 Olympia in Las Vegas, scheduled for September 24–27.

From Physique Competitor to Ms. Olympia

Shaw’s path to the top was not completely straightforward. She initially competed in women’s physique before making the transition to bodybuilding. Her physique was simply becoming too muscular for the physique division, and the move to women’s bodybuilding ultimately proved to be the breakthrough that changed her career.

After making the switch, Shaw quickly demonstrated that she belonged among the sport’s elite. She won the 2020 Ms. Olympia and never surrendered the title.

Since then, her combination of muscularity, symmetry, conditioning and stage presentation has made her extremely difficult to defeat. Her six Olympia victories also place her among the most successful champions the division has produced.

Shaw has developed the kind of complete physique that judges look for at the highest level of bodybuilding: substantial muscle development combined with proportion, shape, conditioning and presentation. Muscle & Fitness has previously described her structure as a combination of exceptional genetics and years of disciplined work.

A Champion Still Improving

One of the most interesting aspects of Shaw’s career is that she has continued to compete rather than stepping away after establishing herself as champion.

In 2025, she won both the Rising Phoenix competition and the Ms. Olympia. At the 2025 Olympia, Shaw finished ahead of Ashley Lynnette Jones and Leyvina Barros, who placed second and third respectively.

That result gave Shaw her sixth consecutive Olympia crown.

Rather than treating that achievement as the end of her career, Shaw has continued preparing for another season. In August 2026, Olympia media began documenting her preparation for the upcoming Olympia, describing her as a six-time champion beginning her journey toward the 2026 contest.

Her Latest Competition: Rising Phoenix 2026

Shaw has already stepped onstage in 2026.

On August 22, she competed at the 2026 Rising Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. The result was another victory. Shaw finished first in Women’s Bodybuilding, defeating Leyvina Rodrigues Barros, who finished second, and Meghan Morrison, who finished third.

That victory is particularly significant because it provides a very recent indication of Shaw’s competitive condition heading into Olympia.

She did not merely participate in Rising Phoenix. She won the contest with a decisive placing, continuing her remarkable run at the highest levels of women’s bodybuilding.

With the Rising Phoenix title now secured, attention turns toward Las Vegas.

The 2026 Ms. Olympia

The biggest upcoming event on Shaw’s calendar is the 2026 Olympia, which will take place in Las Vegas from September 24 through September 27. The IFBB Pro League currently lists Shaw among the qualified Ms. Olympia competitors.

And this year’s field gives the reigning champion plenty to think about.

Leyvina Barros is also qualified after finishing third at the 2025 Olympia and second behind Shaw at the 2026 Rising Phoenix. Other qualified athletes include Desunka Dawson, Anastasia Korableva, Barbara De Freitas Moojen, Nadia Capotosto, Martina Lopez, Alcione Santos Barreto, Paula Ranta, Alide Opre and Megan Morrison.

The question heading into Las Vegas is therefore not whether Shaw is still one of the favorites. She clearly is.

The real question is whether anyone can finally stop her.

Can Anyone Take the Crown?

Women’s bodybuilding has changed considerably during Shaw’s reign. Competitors have become larger, more conditioned and increasingly polished, while the depth of the division continues to grow.

Yet Shaw has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to maintain her position at the top.

Her victory at the 2026 Rising Phoenix is an important piece of the puzzle. Barros, one of her principal challengers, was directly behind her in second place. That makes the result particularly interesting heading into the Olympia.

Jones will also be one of the athletes worth watching. She was Shaw’s closest challenger at the 2025 Olympia, finishing second, and will have another opportunity to close the gap in Las Vegas.

For Shaw, however, the objective remains straightforward: arrive in peak condition and defend the title.

A Legacy Still Being Written

At 42, Shaw is already a veteran of professional bodybuilding, but her recent results suggest that retirement is not yet the story.

She has six consecutive Ms. Olympia victories, another Rising Phoenix victory in 2026 and a confirmed place in the 2026 Olympia lineup. Her competitive record has placed her firmly among the great champions of women’s bodybuilding.

The 2026 Olympia could therefore become another important chapter.

If Shaw wins again, she would extend her extraordinary championship streak to seven consecutive Ms. Olympia titles. More importantly, another victory would reinforce the idea that this era of women’s bodybuilding belongs to Andrea Shaw.Andrea Shaw, Ms Olympia, Olympia 2026, Women’s Bodybuilding, Female Bodybuilding, IFBB Pro, Bodybuilding, Rising Phoenix, Andrea Shaw Olympia, Women’s Open Bodybuilding

Her career has already moved beyond simply winning competitions. She has become a standard against which the next generation of competitors is measured.

And now, after winning Rising Phoenix in August, she has only one major destination left on the 2026 calendar: Las Vegas.

On September 24–27, the best women in the world will meet on the Olympia stage. Andrea Shaw will walk in as the six-time defending champion.

Everyone else will be trying to take the crown from her.
